Morris - a life with bells on

Isn't it nice when you've been waiting for something for ages, and then when it happens, it's every bit as good as you hoped it would be?

Thanks to the Peak Film Society we finally got to see Morris - a life with bells on last night. And it was worth the wait - it's very funny indeed, and sad and poignant in places, and well scripted and plotted, and probably some of the biggest laughs make no sense to anyone who isn't steeped in the morris, but that's their loss.

So now all there is to do is to recommend it to anyone who'll listen, and to see it again, to spot all the bits I didn't see the first time.

Well I bought the DVD and complete with a nice cup of tea and cheese sandwich sat down switched on and was to be fair quite disappointed. The humour was tongue in cheek, granted. But the story line and script was, to be frank, rather, juvenile. It tried to be too clever, too wordy, rather than natural.

When compared to, say, 'Brassed Off' then it does not stand up to comparison as a film.

However it was not as bad as many so called blockbusters.

DVD anyone?????
